With the basketball season just starting up one freshman is super hyped to make a big impact on the court. Jaysean Bradley’s got mad love for the game and is ready to show off his skills to make sure he gets a spot on the team.

Bradley, a freshman at Lincoln High School has big court dreams, “Basketball’s been my sport forever, and I think being on the team will not only up my game but can also be a good way to make some new friends.” This freshman is confident he can bring serious energy and enthusiasm to the team. He describes his game, “I’m always grinding, putting in that extra work to get better.” “Plus, I know the game well, so I’m ready to help out both on and off the court,” he explained.

Bradley has been prepping hard for tryouts, working on his shooting, dribbling, and overall fitness. Playing in pickup games has also helped him stay sharp and get used to different styles. When it comes to his strengths, he’s all about defense, “I think my defense is my best skill. I love shutting up their plays. I also have good court awareness and make smart decisions.”

He acknowledges there’s always room to improve, “I definitely need to work on my shooting consistency. I can make shots, but I want to be more reliable, especially in clutch moments. Getting stronger is also a goal so I can be more dominant inside.” Handling pressure is something he’s getting better at, too. He has realized, “I try to stay focused and calm under pressure.” Bradley reminds himself it’s just a game and to trust his training to stay cool. As a freshman starter on a loaded varsity team, confidence is key.

For Bradley, just making the team was a huge accomplishment, “It means everything to me; that all my hard work has paid off.” With his dedication and hunger for success, this freshman is ready to take on the challenge and prove he’s got what it takes to represent the Hive.
