Students will work independently to develop newsworthy articles in a variety of categories to be published in THE TAKEOVER, Lincoln’s new online newspaper. This work will require a combination of coverage proposals, pre-production, production, post-production of relevant and engaging journalistic reports telling the stories of you and the world you live in. Please be considerate of the limited resources and facilities available when planning your writing. Article types will include:

• Student/athlete/community member profiles based on interviews.

• Feature stories on trends, human interest, and in-depth investigations.

• Beat reports on sports, entertainment, technology, lifestyle, and local events.

• Photojournalism and persuasive advertisements.

• In-depth research on relevant and topical issues.
