THE REASON WHY I DON’T CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN

The month of October, specifically October 31’st is known to be the ‘spooky season.’ Kids, teens, and adults get dressed up in something something scary, go to parties or go trick or treating along with friends and family. While some enjoy the holiday celebrations, others believe something darker is happening.

Halloween is a celebration that goes against our Christian faith. The origin from this holiday is satanic, often disguised as an innocent holiday for children where they have fun trick or treating. Some Christians don't celebrate this holiday because it's a pagan practice that comes from an old Celtic festival known as Samhain. Samhain is the day that these pagans believed that evil spirits are more active. According to their beliefs the spirits from the dead walk between the living ones. The 31’ st is the most important day for witches and satanists. The Bible, however, instructs Christians against practicing pagan celebrations that directly involve witchcraft, occultism, and the adoration of other deities.

The festival of Samhain was often celebrated on Otober 31’st by the in the country now known as the United Kingdom. Samhain, "lord of the dead"  was their god and they would offer sacrifice in his honor; crops, animals, and humans. Often, the Druid priest of the Celts would request a baby or a virgin sacrifice during the festival to appease the visiting "lord of death" and his team of demons. Houses were marked, candle lit pumpkins were placed outsdie of houses to show who had participated in the sacrifice; those on team Samhain.

Beyond the pagan association, it is also believed that there is an international practice of witchcraft, known as Wicca is associated with the holiday as well. Wiccan witches  are not hidden from anyone or anything and openly practice ancient rituals and worship in direct contrast with Christian belief.

There are many bad people out there who are evil, with bad intentions to harm others. It has become tradition for not only kids to collect candy while trick-or-treating, but for parents to have to check the candy fro drugs, poison, or sharp objects intended to hurt. Why would anyone want to and encourage their children to participate in such an evil and dangerous celebration. Other traaditions like Columbus day have been forgotten because of the associated negativity, Halloween should be next to go.
